Still

Still

A Poem by Loribeth215

I need

to break from this pain

when you went

you did not take me with you

silent in a sleep so still

I walk here beneath the sky and wish I were with you

I must break from my silence

My words were created for a reason, not to be stilted in my chest

My body still breathes

for a reason

I must break from this fear

I vow not to be immobile

though it threatens to choke me...

you are somewhere apart,

in a sleep so still

I know all that went with you

sometimes,

just sometimes,

I wish that I'd left with you

still.

I love the double meaning of the final word.
