Resistance

Resistance

A Poem by Lucas Alton
"

A very experimental piece I wrote a while back. The idea behind it was to write down whatever first came to my mind and just roll with it from there.

"
Voices in the static
words never written down
flowers bloom around me
blue sunshine beating down
truth is but a concept
wealth is but a lie
lunatics are yet but madmen
when perceived with the mind's eye
open to suggestion
fingers strum a tune
a woman walks in swiftly
she will be leaving soon
her red dress casts no shadow
her eyes a piercing gaze
to this ravished wasteland
she will no longer raze
a tarnished, hardened heart
she has of late revealed
but it seems such opposition
is only corporeal
further in the distance
there lies a single ray
my reservation execute
without further delay
