The Danger of Love

The Danger of Love

A Poem by Lucas C. M.
"

One I wrote one day when I was in an emotional spout.

"
You walk along the lonely street,
the silence is all,
the loneliness you feel,
festers in your heart,

you met them,
quite a while ago,
and ever since then,
you have been in love,

you had your ins,
you had your outs,
you had your time,
you had your fail,

you never stopped loving,
you never stopped caring,
and the simplest reminders,
tear you apart,

if only you had changed,
if only you had stayed,
that love may have prospered,
that love may remain,

but as time passed,
your distance grew,
your heart began to break,
and you body felt real cool,

your thoughts turned to poison,
your emotions curtled,
as the thing you held dear,
moved on without you,

your infatuation,
your best friend,
your closest reminder,
and your final failure,

you once loved them,
you once shared,
they once cared,
but now thats gone,

your thoughts turn to poison,
your esteem crumbles,
your life looks dull,
as your love turns to ash,

what little pleasure you recieved,
has now been distinguished,
there is no coming back,
not from this,
not anymore,

this is what happens,
when you fly to close to the sun,
the one thing you hold dear,
burns up in your arms,

you plummet to the ground,
broken and bent,
not meant to recover,
but all to spent,

as time passes,
the wounds may close,
you know what you lost,
and you will hold it close,

your days shall continue,
you shall find happiness yet,
but for right now,
all you feel is regret,

you may be sad,
but that will heal,
your life will continue,
and your wounds shall heal,

you will pick yourself up,
you'll mend you wounds,
you'll look high to the sky,
and it will shine for you,

Because this is a bump,
a fleck of dust across life,
some significance may hold,
but it will not change your life,

you will live,
you will be happy,
you'll mend yourself,
and you'll survive,
