an obsession

an obsession

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

couldn't take my eyes off the blue eyes in the grocery store...heavy sigh

"

sounding like Friday night
looking like Saturday morning
a little bit
            exciting
more than a little bit
                      intimidating
a walking bowl of delicious
with cobalt blue eyes
can you hear the cacophony of an obsession forming?
there is but one certainty
my fingers will type you tonight

Love the last line. As blue is my favourite colour, I've always wanted blue eyes. But I'm stuck with dark green...maybe that's more reflective of my personality though haha I must have written a million of these poems over years of looking at people that I'll never know, leaving my imagination to fill in the blanks. A charming piece, with a bit of spice as well ;)

I do like these lines. It is so funny how just the image of someone can capture our imagination so. Nice one.

although I married blue eyes men, I've always been partial to brown, but this tickled me and I'm wondering if you're gonna be in big trouble later with the hubby, lol. But of course you were talking about his eyes right? lol..!!! love it

Beautiful Lydi, fun and frolicking in the grocery store huh? At least he didn't have to say, "hey, my eyes are up here."
