yes, yes, yes

yes, yes, yes

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

admit it, we all want it over and over again!

squinting through the misted glass of longing

                   i see you

a sort of mega-hero on a white horse

or perhaps in a sports car

it doesn’t even matter

because there’s no doubt it’s you

i would know you anywhere

the one who will read me

and really understand me

the one who will think my words

should be read by more people

the one who will untangle my emotions

then grasp them by both ends

and tie them in a pretty bow

or maybe pleat them so i can wear them

like the plaid skirts in elementary school

my bones feel your presence

and drink in your very being

till i am nearly drunk with your significance

you are that itch i can’t scratch

the lust i can’t speak of

i never thought i would want you

but i do, damn it

and even after having you again and again

you are still my very own obsession

so come to me

tell me you want me too

yes, yes, yes,

publish me!

well Lydi, quoting from a movie line, "you had me at" "squinting through the misty glass of longing" and then possessed by those plaid skirts and I can only scream, PUBLISH HER, PUBLISH LYDI... NOW!!! er.. I think I got emotional over that captcha "featural". And, dare I say it, your wonderfully "nice" poem. I love your expressive ways and sways Lydi. You itch and scratch in all the right places. hmmm isn't that the definition of "featural" ;0)

You know what Lydi, I wrote it before but feel obliged to repeat myself time and time again, you are just too damn good. If you have not already sent boxes of your stuff off to a decent publisher, I insist that you do very swiftly...N

This is so clever, evoking passion and angst and want and lust in the write. I really never have anything to tweak or to say, you lay it out perfectly, every time.

dear Lydi... "the misted glass of longing"
is cool like looking through butterfly wimgs
and seeing golden rings and the turguoise
eyes of truth.

Thank you, Tom. Enjoy the weekend. Lydi**
Wonderful use of metaphor, Lydi. Loved the lines:

the one who will untangle my emotions
then grasp them by both ends
and tie them in a pretty bow
or maybe pleat them so i can wear them
like the plaid skirts in elementary school

So expressive! Your poetry is always so imaginative - like a treasure trove of creativity. Write on!
