Remember

Remember

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

ahhh...romance....we never forget

"

“Arising” by Richard Johnson

A quiescent day
no fizz or bubble
to the languishing minutes
as they crawl into hours
so my mind wanders
to a place where
similes sang
poetry partied and purred
the house hummed
and you touched my very soul
with a simple wink
if you were here
you would shave off
the day’s beard of ennui
with your razor sharp joi de vivre
yes opaque images dance
on this quiescent day
and you best believe
mon amour
I will never forget
to remember

This piece is full of flavorful words . I learned some new words today . I love romance and romantic stories . Its really nice to reminisce those moments back in time when were in love and the world is ours . I'll never forget such time in our life when we are drunk with wine . From the winepress of Venus . I love these lines " to a place where simile sang and poetry partied and purred ". ...Sounds like love letters to me sealed with a kiss ... Thanks for posting and enjoyed the read .

dear Lydi... absolutely exquisite.. like
the aroma of fresh bread from the oven.
My life dances before me as I read
your poetry. Our loved ones are
flowers of scented memories placed in
Similes. truly... Pat

Lydi...your images are always so stunningly original... i am always left overwhelmed with wonder. A quiescent day and a surge of memories..seems like the perfect romantic fantasy! Such a sweet innocence to your words. Simply lovely, my friend.

I love your word choice. Unique and refreshing to read. Another poem of emotions. I enjoy The poems with emotion as i can feel it, and connect with the writer.

This is a sweet, romantic verse with your own whimsical personal style that lightens it up when it could be much too serious. Bravo

Romance is the genre I most enjoy writing. Thank you for your review. Lydi**
I love the painting btw... She is lovely, and the scene fits the poetry well.
To move another person thus and to know how you move them is such a high, high place to be...
This is love. It does not negate the realism of the day, but chooses to focus on the beauty rather than the rough edges and stinky seaweed of life.
Yes, you do justice to, "never forget to remember", but you also have remembered to forget as well. This is love...
Fabulous!

Fantastic Lydi.

'i will never forget to remember'
such beauty in this line and an affirmation of sorts that I will carry with me in time.

I feel an Acrostic coming from that line....lets see what I can conjure up:)

Marvelous write.
