poetry blossomed

poetry blossomed

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by anna razumovskaya

 stars unfurled themselves
 into the indifferent night
foolish urges and forces of memory
 battled in my psyche
my mind exercised - metrical aerobics
yes, i dreamed the words of a poem
but dared not put my voice to them
till your smile rested on my lips
 and the poetry blossomed

this is one of my all-time favorites from you, Lydi...
intensely romantic...breathtaking imagery..."metrical aerobics" (like that, my ex Barbara taught aerobics for a long time, and she was quite good)
and i love the vision created by the last two lines.

Ahhh, Lydi Dear 🥀

From title to perfection
in artistic choice,
deliciously warm caresses
by thy poetic voice
flow deeply into
every fiber
of this romantic soul …
sweetly embracing
in thrumming essence
⁓ my rapt manly whole.

Seems you've inspired something inside to softly, sensually rise in romantic tongue.
Could anyone truly blame me? ; )

Love the very thought of this work's wondrously lovely entirety in metaphor, imagery, and scintillating vibrancy; especially:
"Yes, I dreamed the words of a poem,
but dared not put my voice to them
till your smile rested on my lips,
and the poetry blossomed."

What come be better(?), and that artwork … MMmmm*
Thank you ever-so warmly and graciously, Our Fine Lady-Poet … happy hugs! ⁓ Richard 🍃

I'm proud to be your fan.
Intensely romantic, contagiously sweet. Your choice of words and painting are superb to the amateur and trained eyes and ears. You are waxing poetical.

I try Lydia. You are welcome. Thank you kindly.
You really know How to make words sing, don't you. Lydi! From mere letters you create movement and sound when I read aloud.. as I need to at times. And, that in turn, draws out emotion that rings many a bell.. and that in turn echoes. That reads so cheesy but perhaps i mean that what you write, ripples.. is more than.. ok I give up.. please, please try to understand what I'm trying to say. Your poem is truly eloquent/

"yes, i dreamed the words of a poem but dared not put my voice to them.". Love the feel of those lines, and the close with your Muse being necessary to make the poem blossom. As always, you deliver mightily. ~Jim
