my eyes are tired
on the dark side of morning
the room seems to spin
only with colors of you
(such a passionate kaleidoscope)
an ocean of emotion washes over me

once open wounds never really healed
tho' the pain splashed on a page long forgotten
seems almost hallucinatory now
then again you were my drug of choice

but here and now
in the dark side of morning
i still drown in the emotion
the waves attempting to wash away
what would best be left forgotten
the burning, throbbing pain
of losing you

Oh, that burning, throbbing pain of losing someone. Death is like a houseguest that never leaves, rearranging our lives as we know it. Your poetry has always been an ocean of emotion, for me, Lydi. It's good to know there is one constant that I can rely upon! Happy New Year, and I'm loving the new avatar, girlfriend!

oh Lydi! so heartfelt and emotive for me .. there are many kinds of losses aren't there? some one piece at a time .. much like our aging bodies .. or the way an illness takes from us slowly :( amidst all that the passion your poem speaks to is a saving grace it seems ... moments of being one with another human being .. or God Himself through grace ... i'm inspired to have a day of the dead day ... a good thing as in celebrating we reach out to those close to share memories not as personal .. have a snort of Jameson .. or Patron ;) .. a fine meal. ... heavy sigh from me ma'am .. i am deeply moved

Yes we do dear Lydia. We know the ending before the beginning.

Hello dear Lydia and you are welcome.
Some wounds heal more slowly than others. Deep relationships, though severed, linger on in the mind, whether we wish them to or not. indeed, it would be best left forgotten, but it will decide when it fades away. Until them, don't feed it, just allow it to be what it is.

Wow! How moving and how sad. It reminds me of the dark side of the moon and how it is illusive. I was awash in emotions reading this .
Art work is marvelous too.
