okay

okay

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

when the world was too loud

and voices drowned each other out

you were always my calm

my deep breath

my true north

authentic and true

accepting my beliefs

whether you agreed or not

but now opinions push me

this way and that

like a high school bully

i go to our place

at the shoreline

the sun dances in a pool

of orange-pink-yellow

and if i squint just enough

i swear i see you waving at me

telling me today is the day

everything will be okay

Some people do have that kind of effect on our lives, and I think it is wonderful when they do! Whether they are still in our lives or not, they remain special in our hearts and minds! A wonderful poem, Lydi**, and one which I'm sure many readers will instantly be able to identify with!

Being with the right person, at the right place and the right time, indeed is an expression of happiness.
I hope these for everyone, may all of us find the true peace in our hearts. Nicely penned.

Yes we are dear Lydia and you are welcome.
Every little thing is gonna be alright, as Bob Marley sang in Three Little Birds. People can be so unkind and pushy sometimes. I suffer from too much honesty and satire in my veins with often a dose of sarcasm thrown in for good measure. Those that know me, love me in spite of myself and a friend made is one I'll keep for life. But I'm often misunderstood and in my latter years I've just grown tired of trying to explain myself to anyone. Most of my lifelong friends have passed away and I've no longer the patience required to recruit new ones. So I've settled into my shell and become the crusty curmudgeon I never thought I'd live long enough to become. But I miss those old friends sometimes, I miss their caring, understanding and unconditional love. I can only count myself blessed as to have ever known such wonderful beings to begin with. Thank you for the reminder that they are always with us. Bless, F.

I've been through so much lately, and the stress and emotion have hit me hard. I keep breaking down, and feel exhausted. How wonderful for me to be back among friends, taking me back to better days, that I know will soon find me once again.

Sea sunsets are just wonderful. I really look forward to our visits to Torbay and Brixham every year. There is something so calming about the vastness of the ocean, the taste of salt on your lips, the breeze in your hair and being on your own to take in the peaceful ambience. Lovely work Lydi**
