Father

Father

A Poem by MOON

Always I see you in the morning sun

Then too I glimpse you when the day is done

Autumn leaves are a fiery pyre

You are the dawn splendour, you won’t die here

You are the wind whispering through the trees

You are the nesting sparrows in the eaves

You are the vibrant garden of flowers

You are the grace in my needy hours

When the spring buds hope on a given day

You are the fragrant promise  that  will stay

You the invisible waltz dancing free

You are all I am and will ever be

This is lovely. We have a Father who surrounds us all the time...spring or fall...sun or snow...

So well said and reminds me of my Dad who has been gone many years now. I still feel him, and am reminded again and again - just as you illustrated here. The poem is open for interpretation on more than one level and that makes it all the more meaningful.

I love this. So much Faith and Hope resides in these words. Words loved by the poet's heart and shows the resilient soul!

Great piece, the flow is terrific and brings the reader in. This piece really hit home for me, I never knew either of my parents but I remember times just sitting and wondering if they were looking down on me. Great work!

OMG...my dad died on March 26th of this year so I'm still very much in mourning mode...but as some others have said here, I'm sure he's never too far away...needless to say this is a 100 poem, and it's going in my libarary.

This moved me so deeply Moon, I feel he is living in you, through you and with you. As you write about him in honor, he must have been a beautiful person, and you two had for sure a great bound. It can indeed be interpreted in many ways, but I guess, I know wich one you're speaking of dear Moon. Such a beautiful ode, and heartfelt write.

yes like the vintage librarian said.. father can be interpreted in many ways... it could even be about ones self.. even if they, were a mother of a family without the, father figure, in the classical sense..

what can we say about our dad's.. they give us that gentle strength and surge forward and always be there..

lovely piece.. :)
