Fragile

Fragile

A Poem by MOON

Fragile

So shattered a mind that breaks in song

Weeping sad tunes and echoing words

You the split mirror for far too long

Now in pieces flying with the birds

In the rose silence of the hour

Where the wind blows and rattles the bones

I wonder if the late spring shower

Would grace the fragile mind now alone

Once you caught my eye held out a hand

Tenderly grasping at the straws of love

Now you have taken the olive wand

Retreating grey folds of a shy dove

Sing now my heart to the skies so clear

Solitary ballad on your own

Is it the human touch you now fear

That makes your heart turn into bleak stone

You now marching to your own drumbeat

Is this protection or just defeat.

It is defeat. I have known people who had nothing left. Most got strong again and learn to survive with different tools and goals. I like your description. Some stories have a bad ending. Old world need a tender touch today. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

That dark place we wish on no one. Well penned Moon, or better yet expressed. I learned something from this. And that is why we read poetry.

Thank you so much, will stop by shortly, take care!
The misunderstood imperfections of humanity are very difficult to understand for many who have not walked that mile or 1000 in those shoes. To feel understood and not isolated and alone, is an important placebo to break the cycle. Major depression and the situational depression that most experience now and then, are completely different.
Major depression is recurring horror... reality can be a darkness evolving into a brittle level vastly beyond poetic metaphors, to a depth most do not comprehend. Your poem depicts a very vivid and emotional picture, raising awareness to a misunderstood disorder. I know someone who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 17...I have heard the fragile song and looked into the scattered and broken pieces of the mirror…The answer is both.

probably protection..which is necessary sometimes to survive...hopefully the wand will wave again and the speaker will see some light in the darkness.

wonderfully penned piece of poetry.
as Plath said.."people want to read from someone who has been there and knows the worst"

this is the worst of depression...and it surely does bring us down...but it seems helpful to share with others who are there...we are not the only ones.

The painful things we experienced could make us numb or doubtful. I think this is just part and the start of our inner healing process. The image painted on the second stanza, "In the rose silence of the hour..." took my breath away. Though this piece tackled a sad subject matter, it was beautifully written.

Thanks for the lovely review. Take care!
For a "major depression" I couldn't help but seeing this beautiful imagery, dark, but beautiful. There's something hypnotic about the way you write that draws people in.

This poem describes perfectly our fragile selves, loves and even times in the human touch of things. We all have bouts of depression and loneliness but I hope we can find the wisdom and strength to overcome them... LIfe is short but our hopes are long if we can ever touch the rainbow...
A very good poem...:)
