Painful Lies...

Painful Lies...

A Poem by Manda
"

If only they knew what she was.... and what she was truly going through.

"

My face hides any signs of sadness
But deep down I know I am

My heart aches for happiness

But it's so far away....

I hide my identity

Fearing for no one’s understanding

I live in a world full of black and white

With no grey in between

Every painful remark others leave behind

Stays with me and kills me even more inside

If only others could see behind all the lies

And see how much I cry

Maybe then

They could see

All the dreadful

Things I've kept inside....

It's amazing how I can relate so well to this. Most would say secretive is not the way to go... But if all these emotions were to be shown to people... I don't think they would understand. This is very well written, and in the end I hope at least something turned out in your favor.

I liked the entire poem and how it flowed, but I didn't like how you said "maybe then.... they could see." I don't think it needs all those periods. None would be best, in my opinion, but maybe you're just seeing it phrased differently than me.

I think everyone goes through this kind of pain at some point in their life. Hiding behind false smiles and fake I'm goods. This was written in way that is easy to read and understand

Wow, very powerful feelings here. Amazing flow too! I can relate, as usual.
Nice job. This is my new favorite piece from you!

Um . . . I'm crying.

I am feeling this right now. I have been holding it all in inside while I have just been faking a smile on my face.

Well I have to give you 100/100 you made me cry!
I don't think I have ever given a 100/100, but you deserve it. Very touching and it's short, but still as powerful. Doesn't need anymore.

Great poem

This poem is touching. It made me wish for happiness and trust to shatter
the glass ceiling.
