A Series of Limericks

A Series of Limericks

A Poem by Marie
"

A series of funny poems

"

There was a girl named Mary
whose chin had become very hairy
Embarrassed by this
she refused to kiss
her lover so odd and contrary

One time a young girl named Dolly
went shopping with a very big trolley
Filled to the top
She cleaned out the shop
Her favourite item; a parrot named Polly!

There once was a young girl named Gwen
All thought she was great with a pen
Her thoughts they were pure
and she was demure
as she crafted a beautiful hymn!

There once was a young girl named Fred
Whose Ego went straight to her head
She has searched for a man
everywhere that she can
but has not yet landed one in her bed!

There once was a young girl named Rose
whose lover to her did propose
As he popped the question
she got indigestion
and threw up all over his clothes!

Ahhh-HAH! 🍀🎶

No one but a keen minded, free-spirited Celtic lass could pen such crafty, quick-witted Irish Limericks.
I love this form for its jaunty pace 'n creatively novel brand of humor and/or sassy frass fun … often naughty, but always entertaining when penned well, and there's scant doubt your unique suite of Limericks are excellently rendered, indeed.
Every one in spot-on rhyme, rhythm, flow, and jaunty punch … I love em one 'n all with light humorous grins 'n guffaws, but have to admit the penultimate verse best tickled my risquély randy imagination. 😉

Good stuff, Lady Marie … you're always amazing! ⁓ Richard🖌

Well, the Irish are known for their limericks. I must confess a weakness for the naughty ones, such as the one about a man named Magruder, who met a young lass in Bermuda. I'll leave it at that.

There once was a girl named Marie
Who shared with us, poetically
A wonderful style
That made us all smile
And log in each day just to see

That was fun and here is one for you. : )

Thank you!
There once was a limerickett-e
Whose limericks were presented free
Down a rhymebow they were fed
Going straight into her head
Which was no longer quite as empty

I really enjoy limericks and yours were great
