Dancing in the Moonlight

Dancing in the Moonlight

A Poem by Dave

               Dancing in the Moonlight

The moon is full, and the music swells,

together we sway to the rhythm, softly,

in my arms, hardly touching the ground.

Kisses come gently, but in anticipation of more,

bold moves, you swing out, fingertips touching,

pulling you into me, you feel my longing for you.

Clouds hide the moon, revealing hidden stars,

the passion we've come to feel is only ours,

again the moon comes out in all its brilliant glory.

Kisses become cries filled with raging desire,

the music and the dance slows in my head,

together we go elsewhere to 'dance' instead.

Moonlight, music and love. What more could you possibly want. Romance makes the world go round. A visual write, beautifully conveyed. Take care Dave and keep safe.

I swear I could hear smooth jazz playing while I read this poem. I could imagine this happening on a cruise ship out at sea. So romantic! 100/100!!

One of my favorite pop songs of my era: "Dancing in the Moonlight" by some one-hit wonder called King Harvest . . . I will forever hear that melody when I have a romantic moment under the moon. Your poem conjures up all those old feel-good feelings when I could actually dance on these crippled legs & I did it quite often under the moonlight! Thanks for the throwback dance of imagination (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Love it when that music swells with the body heat...as lips meet and dance...
rhythmic and sensual.

Have a great NEW YEAR - Dave
Did the north south dance tango itself ninety degrees into the east west version? Thanks for sharing.
