VERSE-LESS

VERSE-LESS

A Poem by Mockingbird

upon raging still waters
nothing stirs within
this corporeal blackness

light eludes the vessel
silenced and numb
as the roar of fickle tides
obscures the fragments
of a shattered puzzle
splayed across the sea

amorphous reflections
bring dissolution to
a fading visage
into the depths
of an unversed abyss

"raging still waters" brings to my mind a deep running emotion, far beneath the surface where no one can see.

"Obscures the fragments of a shattered puzzle splayed across the sea" beautiful line.

An ocean can contain a lot of emotion, rage, but it gives us warning.

The darkness of the poem is not so much disturbing as alluring. Good write.

This is the second exquisite piece I've read today on "what I understood from the title" to be writer's block. But, it could also be about any state of numb-ness.
Excellent
