Sadness and teardrops

Sadness and teardrops

A Poem by Mia
"

Wrong side of the bed, I suppose.

"

If I’m dying, take me fast

Where is your mercy, my Lord?

I keep praying

Anguish building wildly

And I am desperate for love

But only if it’s yours

Why won’t you stop the raindrops?

As they fall from my face

Somehow my dark soul succeeds

In capturing them

I fight it

With the little strength I pretend to have

My disgraceful attempts are laughable

Silently screaming as I drown

Still desperate for love

But only if it’s yours

Author's Note

Mia
Have you woken up feeling completely distressed? Not really knowing where it came from. Hands shaking from emotions you don’t want to feel. I’m having one of those days.

this is beautiful Mia. I'm no stranger to days like these, and I feel every word of this because I have them and because my faith gave me the strength to pull myself through them. You captured it wonderfully.
the ability to make such feelings into art is a gift, and you certainly have it!!
well done :)

Thank you, I appreciate your kind comments and more than that, your time!
i think weve all been here. its almost like not waking really, i just lie there and wish for sleep to come again, something to take me away from the despair that has no business being there to begin with. it creeps up on you through the night and sets inside your soul. a desperation yearning for some sort of love (to me that can include the love of a friend as well, just someone to talk to.).
excellent piece, it really captures that distress well.

God that brings me back to depressing times.

It was a great read. It really made me remember the times when I felt alone and confused.

It dragged me in with the first line "If I'm dying, take me fast"
That is an amazing start.

Thanks for sharing.

Yea. I've had plenty of those days. Feeling anger or sadness, depression, and having absolutely no idea where it all came from. I hate days like that. I'm always so irritable, a terrible person to be around.

I like this piece though. It's got a certain desperation to it that tugs at something in my soul. A familiar cry I've echoed at night when I'm all alone with no one to speak to, to hold...perhaps. Or maybe it was when I was surrounded on all sides by those I know but who don't know me...

Excellent piece. It has many interpretations.

I usually have a reason for those kind of feelings, if they last. I've had a dream where I would wake up in a panic, but then realize it was only a dream.

Mia...This is one of the most beautiful writes I have ever read...This literally sent chills and I practically lost my breath though half of it...You speak of the lord and I think you were writing with God's hand when you wrote this...It is hard and oh so rare to find something so powerful and emotionally charged...Like Poe, Whittman, and Dylan Thomas this is the furthest down the road of words one can travel...After writing this you should consider a job as a professional scripter or song writer...Excellent stuff Mia :o)
