Tempus Fugit

Tempus Fugit

A Poem by Mike Wolfe
"

Tempus Fugit: Latin for time flees.

"

Tick-tock, tick-tock. Listen to the clock

Hear it click and clack, you’ll never get it back

Watch it slip away, for no one does time stay

Tick-tock, tick-tock. Listen to the clock

Here it is, there it goes. When it’s gone, no one knows

Every second, every day. No time to play.

Tick-tock, tick-tock. Listen to the clock

Going, going, gone. I am only time’s pawn

My time is running low. It’s become my foe

Tick-tock, tick-tock. Listen to the clock

It rang its final bong, this is my last song

The hourglass breaks, and my heart starts to ache

Tick-tock, tick-tock. Listen to the clock

I breathe my final breath, so this must be death

The clock’s hands have dropped, and my heart’s beat has stopped.

Tick-tock, tick-tock. Listen to the clock.

Time waits for no man.
