My Metamorphosis

My Metamorphosis

A Poem by Karma Milano
"

This is a new poem I've written in hopes to get back in touch with my poetry. It's not very good. My poetry needs work. I hope you like. Any criticism would be amazing.

I cannot take much more of this, I fear.

This imprisonment.

Caged up.

Locked up.

With no escape.

I cannot breathe.

Grow.

Spread my wings and fly.

I’m smothered into the cell of no return.

Hidden behind thick metal bars.

With lurking shadows.

Nightmares.

Death.

My wings clipped behind me.

Leaving a trail of blood.

Depression.

And anger.

I cannot take much more of this, I fear.

This imprisonment.

For I have to be let loose.

To spread my wings.

Breathe.

Grow.

To begin

My metamorphosis.

A metamorphosis of life.

Ooooh, I like this!
The feeling of inprisonment is a thing that, I fear, too many of us know. Because, after all, all we want as human beings is to be happy. But if others put restrictions on what we can do and what we can pursue, then certain means by which to find that happiness are blocked. And that's no good for anyone.
As a poem I really enjoyed this. I loved the staccato form, with the interruptions of single word lines. It was very unique and provided a good shock of rhythm.
Very good!

I'm certainly no authority on such things, (I write stories) but to me, this poem is very good. The message couldn't clearer and the words flow well.
