Flighted by Time

Fated to take flight
On winds scourged above shores
In destinations of stone and
Shattered upon shards of
Dreams now marred by
Infamous greed and mutilations untold
By the soul, darkened by fates
Displeasured and cold
Held above the furnace of hates
Controlled by the faces of those
Whose names on hold
Effaced by the years of race to gold.
And gone are the days
when all that was shown
         all that was told
Led to the goal of men
                        and friend
                        and saints
Of all that run to the gates.
That place that none know.
So you see; we grow old
And time runs by.
Yet here we fly.
