An Autumn Sigh

An Autumn Sigh

A Poem by MomzillaNC

Spreading stains o’fiery glory ‘cross forest scenes

Dying flames of vitality…red & gold & brown & greens

Bright Autumn color beneath an azure sky

Shedding leaves fell upon fading lawns lie

Bare-boned, skeletal trees on the horizon

Leave evergreen reminders of vibrant holidays, my son

Interesting how your vision of Autumn brings you to thoughts of your son.
I also am captivated by Autumn.
A lovely read. Thank you for sharing.

My boy is 10. He'll be eleven in December.
This captures as you say those dying flames of vitality and there is a glorious beauty in that. The bare trees wait while the evergreen keeps color upon our barren horizons. This was a lovely read.

Thank you so much.
On highway 10, as you approach Geogian Bay (Ontario), near Meadford, during the fall time, you're breathe is taken away, by kaleidoscope of rioting colours of Maples, Oaks, and other hardwood trees, in their finest glory. Sadly, this display, only lasts a few weeks, before the bare branch prepare to face winter. Your poem, Momzilla, reminded me, of this, as my mom's car crest a hill, overlooking the town.

Part of the aftermath of 9/11.
a lovely poem - a bit wistful - a bit blissful it reminds me that the faster the clock spins, the more I cling to the moments.

Thank you. Your spot on with where I was when I penned this.
Yes, this is autumn all right. The leaves don't change colour where I live, but your poems helps me to see them...

Gee… that's a great compliment! Thanks so much.
I was brought back to my childhood in New Jersey when the leaves changed color and the leaves were such fun to play in....less fun to rake. A little melancholy remembrance of when your son was young.....in our eyes they are forever young though. The color changes were effective in your presentation! Very good. Lydi**
