This Music

Addicted to the music

And what it does to my heart

I cling to it like a preserver

Of my soul

Paying homage to those who create the sounds

That will keep me a float

Even in the deepest of waters

Each note finds my ear open

Finds my mind lonely

And ready for its company

This music

It turns the pages of my life’s book

And will see me through

To the next day

The next week

To the next song

I too have found that there are certain songs that make me feel like this. I want to hear them over and over again. Sometimes they are sad songs that make me want to cry but also remind me of the things we should be thankful for, sometimes they make me happy and want to sing at the top of my lungs driving down the road, off key or not, it doesn't seem to matter. There is something about music that can soothe the soul, and as the saying goes "music calms the savage beast" at least I think that is the saying...? Either way music can be so many different things and may mean something different to each person that hears it. I think it is something we all may share at one time or another and there are so few of those things in this world. Another greaat write my friend. Congrats and thank you. Smiles

Ah yes. Music. What stirs the soul, creates the mood, and has so much more power over our emotional state than many people realize. A powerful tool which should be used wisely. As beautiful as it is, it can be equally as deadly depending on what one listens to. That may sound extreme, but it's the truth.

I couldn't imagine life without music. Great piece ML!
