Open Wide

Open Wide

A Poem by Andrew M Parker

Beneath soil and stone, I am trapped.

Inside the earth, hiding from the atmosphere.

I ran from the ocean to bury my fears of being taken alive,

By the monsters in the deep.

It is never so dark that we can’t see, but

That we are blind.

Even in the light, we can’t see what’s right in front of our eyes.

Maybe we’re just too close when we’re looking

at something we shouldn’t.

Possible depending on what you're trying to express. In first stanza; the speaker is a riddle..personification maybe. In second stanza; it speaks on our (mankind maybe) lack of sight (philosophical point maybe) The last warns of curiousity. Quite an fascinating enigma.

This is some of the best feedback I think I've ever gotten, thank you. :)
