Muse

Muse

A Poem by Mrudula Rani

A sensation as ethereal as soap bubbles with all the hues of sapphires and Opels,
Yet I can't hold long enough to know how and when it became visual.
If I ponder on its probabilities it might take flight...
On resemblance of monarchs' and swallowtails' fluttering wings
I do not search for tangibility of its essence for the fear of silence
replacing all things beyond my comprehension,
I make an attempt to etch what I grasp,
If words roll like marbles to mend the fragments of my thoughts
Iam sure of an image soon emerges from the urgency of my frantic stance.
If I let the distractions chase away the wisp of sensation:
The sculpture of smoke poised to decipate will disappear,
Then I'll run in circles to search and to catch not knowing what it is that I lost in space and time !

There are tons of poems about "muses" & "writers block" on this website. Yet you've come up with the most original & unexpected ways to describe both these opposing forces & how it feels to be bouncing between the two! *smile* Love these: "if I ponder probabilities, it might take flight" . . . "I do not search for tangibility for fear of silence" . . . "words roll like marbles to mend the fragments of my thoughts" !!!!! These are such fresh & startling ways to describe our favorite inner forces to write about, as writers. There's so much more that sings with originality! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

The search for the Muse.
Like the search for Spock.
Out there waiting to be grabbed.
But for some reason, you can't hold onto it.
Then one day you sit together as one. Like that's the way it's always been.

Thank you jimmy Yetts, for your beautiful words of encouragement.
Your words are like wild water, carrying us on the waves of your thoughts. How vivid is the movement and awakening of words, of the songs of our muses, the wings they give our souls. This is transcendent.
