The Message of Christmas

The Message of Christmas

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

The Message of Christmas

I see Christmas

through the eyes of a child…

so magnificently its beauty shines,

like diamond glints of snow.

I feel Christmas

through the heart of a child…

an abundance of innocence and wonder

reaching far beyond the brilliance of a north star.

And through the laughter of a child,

I hear Christmas…

rejoicing its promise and mirth,

proclaiming the miracle of birth!

Christmas indeed brings out the hopeful child in us all Kelly and it is through children, once we have grown, that Christmas has any meaning.

Christmas is about the Miracle birth of the human race and the one and only savior Jesus Christ.

It's sad that Christmas, with all its wonder and joy,
comes and goes in just a few brief moments each year,

BUT,,, I am so glad it does, and I look forward to it, each and every year,

You have captured the innocence of it perfectly here,

NICE, Trace

I'm SOOOO bummed that I read this only now. This poem would've been perfect for a lazy and lonely Christmas evening, spent reminiscing about the past. I loved it. A great, GREAT write.

Kelly, Remembering Christmas in my own childhood is sketchy, too long ago. But I now get to view Christmas through the eyes of my grandchildren...the brilliant hues of carols strung on tinseled senses of wonder is still very magical and sublime. Christmas is very much for children, only now I enjoy the role of giver instead of receiver...a very comfortable niche. Merry (belated) Christmas to you and the entire left coast! take care...dan
