Coo of the Mourning Dove

Coo of the Mourning Dove

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers
"

...a haiku

"
...my second nesting of doves!

Coo of the Mourning Dove

A mourning dove coos

Its mellifluous sound, lulls

like a distant train.

You captured an exquisite photo of the dove, Kelly making the ideal image to go with your words. The cooing of a dove brings about a feeling of love and contentment like no other. They are beautiful creatures which make them the perfect symbol of peace. Simply lovely all around!

Comfort and undying love are felt, oozing from this haiku. Reminds me of an old couple held together via good and bad times. And one passes away. But the bond is never broken even in passing from this world to the next.

My pleasure Kelly.
dear Kelly... I remember the coo of my new born son when I breast fed him in the quietness of love and nourishment... I felt the closeness of protecting always. Your Haiku is soothing and mournful like a distant train. truly, Pat

Even Winter in San Diego. Have fun and be safe dear Kelly. You are welcome.
Nice. I like how your mind works Kelly. Even from a distance, hearing them warble can make you think you feel the vibrations. Now that I think about it, its one of the most soothing of sounds. Some of my neighbours have chickens... Not such a nice sound :)

isn't it funny? the sound of a train so near can be disturbing...but the sound of a distant one is soothing.

sometimes love seems that way....absence makes the heart grow fonder, as they say.
