Stand Aside

Stand Aside

A Poem by MusicLove93
"

Feeling like you're not good enough.

"
Stand aside, for it’s not you we want to see.
We want to see the other person.
The one you’ll never be.
We want to see he who sticks out in a crowd;
The on who talks to much
And laughs too loud.
Stand aside so we may congratulate them
The ones that skate through life,
The ones everyone call a gem,
The ones who’ve never known strife.
They ride by on their high horses,
Not bothering to watch their step.
They believe they’re such unstoppable forces,
So bright and full of pep.
Stand aside and let these good people through.
Just stand in their shadows,
And watch as they smile, nod, and bow on cue.

This was amazing and quite relatable piece. I loved reading this. I really did. I've been there. I have thought like this about people. I'm shy and I have always felt people wanted me to be outgoing loud mouth and rejected me when I didn't comply. I have met people who feel they have a privilege to put others down and step over them. This poem was excellent! The rhyme scheme was flawless and didn't seem forced. Great Job!

Feeling inadequate is common, but you've done it in such a way that it brings light to this overlooked subject that many of us should contemplate. Well done.

This kind of makes me think. Its kind of hard to like the person we see in the mirror but, its not to hard to like everyone else... why is that?? Anyway I like this poem. Good job!

Why is that it's hard to like the person we see in the mirror, yet we so easily admire what others have done? Another wonderful poem. I love it!

Good work. Rhythm is solid, rhyme is excellent. Again, I like the simplicity of the piece.

Sometime better to watch. People who want all the attention. Will fall one day. Better to be kind and enjoy what life gives you. Popularity is over-rated. I like the way you wrote the poem. Allow the reader to watch the people high step through a life for us common folks to watch. Thank you for a excellent poem.

A nice penning. Absolutely love it for its simple antics. We always want to see the real person behind the fake phasage. Only then we will know what we are giving ourselves too.

I love this! Some people just don't know how to let others shine, and they aren't worthy of recognition.
