she was a poem broken ..

punctuated

only by a series of subtle

pauses

and a steady flow of lies ..

she was known

to argue with echoes ..

find fault

with perfection

and frown upon sorrow ..

but make love

with a hunger and passion

she reserved

only for men, with blue eyes ..

Yes, I have known a few broken poems in my time, still arguing with Echoes long since passed.
It's at times like these I consider myself thankful that I have escaped this far from perfect life in almost pristine condition, if you don't count all the head blows and puncture repair outfits that hold my heart together.

She had her flaws didn’t she, but then all of us are flawed. However, the blue eyed boy here surely can’t be complaining about the hunger and passion she reserved especially for him? Or would that be for all men with blue eyes? Now that’s a road I wouldn’t want to explore further. I hope her positives greatly outweighed her negatives and she is remembered with a smile and not for a broken heart. Always more to your poems than first meets the eye Neville. Have a very happy Easter.

I'm certain I never met her. My father had green eyes, my mother brown. My eyes are hazel/brown. Both my daughters are blue-eyed beauties. All my grandchildren are blue-eyed. I think blue eyes are beautiful but it's what lies behind them that most concerns me; those windows to the soul.

I find myself more particular about men with darker hair than I do eye color, but I love how you wrote this line for line. Love and passion is a must have in relationships, and an even better component in the context of a poem. It's a keeper for me, Nev!
