Fancy That

Fancy That

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

( a spontaneous write)

"
when we converse
about verse and so many
other matters
on life and tattered
relationships
nattering away as though
we have known each other
forever
it never crosses my mind
we won’t ever sit in the
same room together
well it didn’t until today
when a tidal wave of dismay
swept over me
and for a moment
i was swimming in sea
afloat but the boat had sunk
whoever would have thunk
it

Fancy that, a great saying says I. But don’t thunk, think! We all share snippets from our lives and influences and that what shapes our thinking be it sad or happy. Another fine write Chris from your pen.

Gee
Wouldn't it be good to get the cafe folk into one room, provide a wee bit of alcohol and see what happens. I wonder if the arseholes who try to create merry help would turn up!

Now that would be quite something Gee. Add a bit of booze and I’m sure it would be worth watching:.. read more
Sometimes I get sad, this made me very sad... no one will ever love me like I do. Ever.

I'm not sure how that makes me feel. I've worked in the health care and military fields before... it makes me feel ambivalent sometimes... I love people, I would go to great lengths for them... but I love myself probably more... but I am a person... existence is confusing to me. A love hate relationship.

a spontaneous review .. I trust you woz wearing your wellies or at least a life belt .. and that you cheered up shortly after .. I also imagine he may have felt similarly and for more than a moment .. but then, he is so bloomin unpredictable and prolific .. Neville

Thank you my friend. Prolific yes. Unpredictable? Not at all. He is most predictable.

This is very true, infact I met a person I was chatting to in a medical office, when I was waiting to be called, and was taking pictures back and forth i'd realized they were sitting across the room...

Such a symbolic piece Chris. This one takes me on a trip and a pensive one indeed. I loved the ending.
