Some Words are not Just Words

Some Words are not Just Words

A Poem by Neville

Some Words are not Just Words

There are some words

that should be bound

in the very finest leather

Note pads, shirt cuffs,

serviettes and beer mats

are not fit for purpose

Yes, some words should

be bound in leather ..

and always read out loud

While others get caught

and just stick like a

proverbial bone in the throat ..

Good morning Neville. How I agree. Some words are so deserving only the finest leather should hold them. You are one of those poets who deserve that accolade. Then of course there is the gutter press and should you by chance read them, which I try not to do, then you can be sure to find what they have to say is usually unpalatable. Words are precious.

In a world of useless words. We need to keep the solid words alive in our heart and mind. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

And we would like to forget some words too. This is absolutely on target, Neville. Words are precious....if they are used correctly. This is great. Lydi**

Which is why my collection of journals were burnt long ago, for fear someone would read them and cart me away to the room with bouncy wallpaper
Those wraparound jackets chafe like hell too. 😀
Totally in agreement though. Some writing deserves to be read from fine volumes, despite having the same content as a paperback version from a charity shop. Dickens, Orwell and Plath have pride of place in the "No, you can't borrow them" section of the bookcase, while others crawl under the bed and hide in shame. Yours are on the top shelf of course 😀
