It is such a crying shame

a happy ending

 has so far eluded us both ..

 

Though ever the optimist

one can only

  live and hope for the best ..

 

Until then, how I wish every

windblown kiss

  shall find its intended target ..

Unfortunately Yours, says so much. It is such a sad title about the state of a relationship. A wish and hope for far more and yet, there is also an air of optimism in the lines. Those wind blown kisses, I wondered who was blowing them and who the target might be. I like happy endings rather than sad ones. I hope they both find happiness either together or apart. Always much to ponder with your lines dear Neville.

The title says a lot and in a nice way is kind of bad news but the poem still breathes of someone who cares. We may be us but if we don't work out...here's hoping you find your smile and I find mine though...the poem still leaves hope of a happy ending after all, "has so far eluded us both". One thing though...what is a happy ending? Ending and happy to me really don't belong in the same sentence (in my opinion). "Hey, we had a happy ending!" Great, now what? A new beginning? Does that ending just continual like end endless echo or are you happy it is over? Ok sorry, I got carried away. I really like your thoughts here...very cool my friend.
