Hugs

Hugs

A Poem by NhanHoang
"

ughhhhhhh

"
your hugs continues
each day
but I do not know
What do I do in return?
Do I hug you back?
Do I ignore you
What do you want me to do?
I feel like I know
Yet I don't
I know what to do
Yet I hesitate
Rethink
And now I'm confused
Don't know what to do
Take my hands
Lead me on.

This reminds me of my brother-in-law. Years ago when I was young & shapely, he would hug me in a way that made me very uncomfortable in front of my older sister (his wife). Also, there were lecherous old men, along my path of life, who would give hugs that were not welcome, but I didn't know what to do becuz I could not offend the guy (a boss or some authority figure). Your poem really covers much territory, altho I think you only meant it as a simple hug between friends (((HUGS)))

This reminds me of my first love and how hesitant I was going through it. Afraid to take a chance or ruin it somehow by doing something dumb or saying something even more stupid. It felt like walking with a large glass bowl with a perfect goldfish in it in both my hands and unable to let it go for any reason. That's what first love felt like. This is an amazing poem that reminds me of that kind of love. Thank you for sharing your words with us.
