Sunshine

Sunshine

A Poem by David Field
"

The usual stage just before you get over a girl

"

I used to feel pain inside of my head,

But now life is saying to just leave her dead.

And now I am stuck and the memories won’t resign,

I pray for eternal sunshine and a spotless mind.

Just let me live forgetting all the bad,

Take these tears and pain don’t even leave the glad.

I wish to be forgetful, I wish her to be forgot,

Grant me the one thing I have eagerly sought.

But I can’t walk away leaving my memories behind.

I shall never have eternal sunshine for my mind.
