In The Sand

In The Sand

A Poem by David Field
"

about someone...lol

"

Standing still, in the sand

Holding nothing in my hand

Sitting alone, in the dark

I think my life has missed the mark

Looking around, no friends to find

I miss the life I left behind

No place to stay, nowhere to roam

No direction pointing home

I look up

I see you

Standing still, in the sand

Holding nothing in your hand

Sitting alone, in the grey

Hating this town, but needing to stay

Looking around, few friends to find

Missing the life she left behind

In this town, making a home,

Although her dream was simply to roam

Walking together, in the sand

Holding each other, hand in hand

Sitting together, in the dark

A connection is lit, interest is spark

Looking around, one friend to find

This friend is enough, though, to blow my mind

Still unsure, should I stay or roam

So long as we’re together, it will be home.
