Flood

Flood

A Poem by Meghan
"

In response to the prompt, "Flood." I took a more conceptual approach.

"

We’re swilled in this illusion of one universe

By the perverse torrents of our matron

We’re purged of simple-mindedness

By her prowess, scouring the shores

We’re therein denied of vanity

From the severity of our scars compared

What elitists were we

To avert our judicious gaze

From possibility
