LOVE-A-BYE

LOVE-A-BYE

A Poem by Miss Sharon

A poem about and for children.

LOVE-A-BYE

Sweet little baby don't you cry
Mamma's gonna sing you a love-a-bye
When you dream into the night
Angel wings will hold you tight

When you wake to greet the sun
We will play and have some fun
You are all the world to me
That's quite clear for all to see

Rocking in our rocking chair
Kiss your face and golden hair
You were sent from God above
Just for Dad and me to love

Sweet little baby don't you cry
Mamma's gonna sing you a love-a-bye
When your days turn into night
Angel wings will hold you tight

So sweet! Children are not only a treasure, they are the future. Our grandchildren too. I now find myself playing games with my grandchildren that I used to play with my own sons when they were little. Treasured memories - hopefully for the children and grandchildren too!

dearest Sharon… I ❤️ love your Lullaby… reminds me of the song 🎶 Summertime.. “your Daddy’s rich and your Momma’s good lookin… Hush little Baby, don’t you Cry”. Your Poetry is very soothing Miss Sharon. gently, Pat

Terrific play on words with love a bye. Formal rhyming poems are hard to accomplish with unforced sounding syntax but you do it seemingly effortlessly.

Gee
I read the last verse as a double meaning, this being about your son, probably incorrectly.
A well rhymed fluent piece that trips off the tongue.
Hope you are well Sharon

This is so sweet! It reminds the child how much they mean to their mom and dad. This poem fits nicely to the rhythm and tempo of "Hush little baby"

Delightful stanzas dear Sharon. It's quite a while since I rocked my own baby, but I have had plenty of practice since with grandchildren. Your lines bring back some lovely memories. Hope you are well and happy.

A sweet ode to children, and much they re loved by us; We protect them from harm, and delight in play with them. We kiss them goodnight and hope they have sweet dreams.
Lovely.
Best, B
