LOVE 'NEATH THE STOCKINGS

LOVE 'NEATH THE STOCKINGS

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

A Christmas poem.

"
LOVE 'NEATH THE STOCKINGS

Close to the fireplace all comfy and warm,
Everything's fine...there's no cause for alarm.
Love 'neath the stockings with nice squishy hugs,
Cocoa is steaming in hot spicy mugs.

Worries are hidden like new lovers' cares.
Stars shine with promise of sweet angel prayers.
Children can't sleep for tomorrow's the day
Presents are waiting all happy and gay.

Hey...wait a minute...just what's all the fuss?
Where is the Christ child that came just for us?
Santa and reindeer are not really real.
It's Jesus' birthday...His love we should feel!

Christmas IS wonderful...yes it is true,
If we allow His sweet love to shine through!
Let us remember when all's said and done,
What we must honor is God's only Son!

"Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!"

dear Sharon… this Christmas December 2022… I think of all the Babies and young Children who each have the Holy Spirit in their Soul. Prayers ascending for the Travelers that follow the Star from afar. 🇺🇸.., May God in His Mercy Protect … Amen 🙏 Pat

a tribute to Jesus on a special day....even if he's not there, his presence is felt everywhere. I like the holidays feel of this Christmas poem and the the warmth of the fireplace and the stockings all stuffed with goodies...a perfect holiday scene you've created Sharon.
Happy holidays to you too!!
Best, B

Very nice read. It is a truth there are not reindeer on the roof, no Santa down the chimneys, and most of us with the gimmes, commerce without mercy, avarice not sacrifice, time spending our wages little time left for the King of Ages. Hope you have a very Merry celebrate of the Lord's birth. thanks for the post - carl

You are spot on my friend! Christ IS Christmas. Thanks for commenting and Merry CHRISTmas. ~Sharon
very nice, Sharon.
talking about stockings makes me remember my favorite stocking stuffer gift...it was a book of poems by e.e. cummings...I sat reading it and had to be reminded to open my other presents....
Jesus, poetry, sometimes we just forget what matters because we are so full of greed.
