Four Haiku...5/7/5

Four Haiku...5/7/5

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Midnight darkness, winter snow, hands upraised, tiny Corgi sleeping.

"
In midnight darkness
Only the sound of a loon
Shivers up my spine

Winter snow falling
Trees in cold whitewash
Longing for springtime

Hands raised to the sun
A prairie dog choir begins
Another new day

Tiny Corgi sleeps
Dreaming about furry squirrels
Legs moving in chase

Number two qualifies as haiku. Everything else is senryu. Japanese dreams, and poetic forms, chase their tails. What do dreams mean? Dogs and I haven't got a clue. I'm just glad they aren't true.

Thank you for your kind review and also the information about the form. ~Sharon
Four beautiful images cast in words. I love nature and all that it brings here are four glimpses of its magnificent manifestations and its simplicity of grandure.

I really appreciate your kind review Soren! Thanks so much. ~Sharon
To be honest I don't really care that these are strict haiku's. They are wonderful poems giving so much beautiful information with just the right amount of words.

Awww! What a sweetie you are my friend. Thanks for the kind words in review. ~Sharon
Well done. I really found these interesting and fun to imagine about,
most especially the choir of prairie dogs testifying with hand raised.

Perfectly captured haiku Sharon, the tiny corgi, with its legs chasing that dreamt about squirrel painted a very vivid picture that made me smile. I only wonder if they keep looking for it when they wake 😊

Beautifully written Haiku. The imagery is rich. You've always been able to say a lot in just a few lines. Lydi***

Haiku create such wonderful gifts. each showing how less is more - form so well executed too. Your third is as visual as can be, love it! Wishing you a happy day, Miss Sharon.
