The truth you seek

The truth you seek

A Poem by OR
"

The truth about Arabs you seek... At least in my point of view...

"

I’m the guy standing tall and looking high

I’m the guy down to earth but loves the sky

For the locks I’m the key

And in hard times I’m the man to see

I’m the Arab that you’ll never shake

A fortress you’ll never brake

For my land I’ll put my life in stake

Always true and never fake

I have the style and always chic

I’m unusual and I’m unique

I will never be another brick on the wall

Nor another slayed veal on the mall

I have no rules and no dismay

For that I’ll rebel and disobey

I’m stranger than a wall, older than an oak

I’m the fire with a heat but without smoke

I’m loud and clear, honest and with no fear

For my enemies I’m a lion, but for my friends I’m such a deer

That’s the truth about me that you seek

I can be a strife and I can be a meek

this is insightful - i think i am not sure...that in this line "i'm the fire with a heat" you meant to either say with heat or with a heart?

i like that you used the metaphor of a lion to your enemies but a deer to your friends....

shows you know how to value yet protect.

I like the duality in this one, it is true in all of us. How we interact with others can be dependant on how they approach us. It is also to know self as you have demonstrated here for us. Excellent write.

.
. beautifully written ... in a world where the word identity is always accompanied with the word crisis ... this is a breath of fresh air ... you have spunk ... you have zeal ... you have that spark and you can feel ... your courage, resilience, patriotism, clarity of thought and poetic excellence sparkle ... (i've been meaning to read more of you and i most definitely will) ... this was a rare treat ...

So strong, so very honest. I love this. The words of a true man, and the definition within. Character. Tastes of the whimsical, the real, and the true. A manificent write.

Powerfully expressed.. In your words you confess the complexity of us all.. nothing is quite so simple as it seems.

"honest and with no fear
For my enemies I’m a lion, but for my friends I’m such a deer."
