The Politeness of Shared Destiny

The Politeness of Shared Destiny

A Poem by Paul Seaman

The Politeness of Shared destiny

       I picked you

       You picked me

not for joy

        or sex

        or love

but for shared Destiny.

       I loved you

           not for what you did

                  or who your are

           but for what I become

              in your company.

And i imagine it is the same

       for you...

If i want Lust

       I can read a book

If I want a diversion,

       There are always "friends"

It is my Destiny I love

       and together

           you can take

               me there...
