Swimming Pool

Swimming Pool

A Poem by AiH

A swimming pool of you
Is all I have left of us
Forgotten toys that sink to the bottom
Algae stained remains

How could I think you could understand?
My waves aren't meant to be captured

I am a rapid current
But you tried to change me into a stream
And instead of growing our seas
I left behind a swimming pool

I will not bow to your chlorine coated lies
Your empty swimming pool

I'll drown your words in salt water
Drag you out to sea
But I will not stay in your swimming pool
You will not capture me.
