Cassini's Last Hurrah

Cassini's Last Hurrah

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

20 years in space sending data back and she runs out of fuel? Wish my electric car had that battery life!

"

I think I'm drunk again.

There are black holes

in space

out of which

nothing escapes,

apart from Einstein's theories,

not even light.

Now we are told

there are methane lakes

on Saturn's moon.

Cassini sailed over them

before her burning death

in space.

What will they tell us next,

that there are cows

up there

on Titan too?

Ah poets often find inspiration when inebriated! I confess I have done from time to time. Many thank.. read more
Forty some years ago I was a part of a project to build compressors for the city of Los Angeles . . . in order to compress methane gas for their use. It appears what was left over must of ended up on one of Saturn's moons. My wife grew up on a dairy farm . . . perhaps she has some idea how cows might end up on Titan? One thing is for sure . . . those cows won't last forever out there if wasn't for a lot of bull!
Cassini (sounds like an Italian painter or movie director) spent a long time alone . . . how can we be sure he wasn't going mad?! Just seeing things?! perhaps gone over the edge?!!

Cherrie, The Milky Way came from a candy manufacturer. And, Gram . . . where there are astro cows there would be astro turf!! Apparently our friend Cassini won't be any help in identifying any of this seeing he and his Fiat ran out of Gas.

I am more than certain it was a chervrolet that ran out of gas fella!
Space Cows, that's a thing
It all start with the saying When cows fly.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Feels Kurt Vonnegut-y to me. Not sure why. Cows on Titan may have something to do with it. What a great image.

I am just facinated with space and the universe and 'flat earth' mentality. Methane and cows go hand.. read more
Wait till we dip our toes into Dark Matter, 90% of Universe is unknown, we could well find astro cows, we only use 10% of brain could there be a connection,

I agree and I liked your thoughts. Science is like Politicians. Like to tell us myth and tell. Wonderful use of words. I did enjoy these words John.
