O Mio Babbino Caro

O Mio Babbino Caro

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Ms Zamourka, a homeless woman who went viral after she was filmed singing in a Los Angeles subway has been offered a recording contract.

"

Down on her luck,

down on her knees

down in the subway

she sang.

In her voice was joy,

in her voice beauty,

in her voice was hope

still.

Then someone listened

and someone knew,

and someone posted

the video on You Tube.

Now she has a contract,

now she has a home

now she has purpose,

again.

God bless the YouTube! What a beautifully positive note you have painted in a poem John. I wonder what they did in those days without You Tube?

this is such a heartwarming story...and means much to me...as that song was sung by a nine year old girl on Holland's Got Talent....her name is Amira...
and what a voice...she has become a rising star in opera since that show...and she had never had training...just watched youtube videos of the songs and learned them....she has a wonderful voice and is so kind...i am happy for her...and also for this beautiful woman from the subway who is now on her way to stardom...and has shelter.

A heartwarming tale, both Jacob. Pity so many have to suffer though. Many thank yous.
This is the other side of the coin on You Tube, usually it's some poor sod getting beat up.
But just imagine someone come up to you and offer you contract. You probably wouldn't believe them to begin with. Great to see someone down on their luck climb out of poverty, gives hope to others.

I read the story. The outcome was wonderful. We need more happy endings. This was certainly one and you made an uplifting poem out of it, and one that offers hope when the chips are down.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
