I am avoiding it like the plague because with a weakened immune system I might not survive it. I still have work to do. Elderly relatives, a sick daughter and grandchildren who need my support still. Doing it my way. waiting a vaccine and keeping a low profile. You do it the wild way :) Good free verse with an easy flow.

I guess history will show what we did and if it was simply ignorance that allowed 10,000 excess non covid deaths (to date, more physical trauma to come as obesity grows and other chronic, untreated disorders worsen, tooth decay and depression run rampant, unemployment rockets, poverty follows together with homelessness and destitution, young people riot because of the fragmenting of the social fabric and loss of hope in the future. Yup dystopian outcome if you consider the other side of the saving a few lives. But thankfully everyone is free in a democracy to follow their own beliefs-[joke!]. Anyway thanks Chris and good morning. Off to Norfolk for a few days.
I can only hope you are being sarcastic. Since many people in this country mimic the prez in terms of minimizing (or completely disregarding) the deadliness of this scourge, I'm never sure if people really believe this dangerous bullshit, such as "herd immunity" . . . conveniently forgetting to mention the almost-220,000 sacrificial lambs (80% over 60-ish) required to gift the herd their immunity (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Here in the UK 12,000 die every year from flu. In 2015 50,000 died from flu and we did not lock society down and destroy the future of many and reap a harvest of increased unexpected mortality from untreated illnesses and mental disorder. Sweden took a middle road and many scientists are saying now is the time to take that road as the second wave approaches. But I respect those who chose to self isolate, me I'd rather take my chances and give the kids abetter future. Many thanks.
That is a noble goal. Personally, I have a fetus to protect, and I also have gestational diabetes, just like my mother did, so I can't afford to get sick. I need to cook healthy meals and walk after every meal to control my blood sugar, so bed rest isn't an option for me. I need to keep my body strong for the labor as well. Therefore, I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing to stay safe since the "shelter in place" order came out in my county. I'm even sanitizing groceries, the works!

The diabetes may though be a game changer so hope it all goes smoothly. When is your due date? Many thanks for the read and comment.

I've also read some stories of pregnant women younger than me who died from COVID getting emergency C-sections to save the baby. I don't want my child to grow up without a mother.
I'm due in February.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
