Dressed for the Theatre

Dressed for the Theatre

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Formal attire in the latest fashion...

"
An Invitation to the Kennedy Center...

Formal but not overstated we danced down

the long Hall to be seated at the pleasure of

Aristocrats with their wives dressed in Pearls and

dangling diamonds with emerald and gold...

It was foretold that the Russian Ballet would perform

starring Rudolf Nureyev and Anna Pavlova...

My lover and I were well feathered and versed

in the movements of Swan Lake and the dying

Swan.... we had seen the performance in Paris...

Anna Pavlova with her dedication and talent was

the most famous Russian ballet dancer ever.

We were mellow having had Wine of Red Berries

before our flight over the Potomac in the Nations Capitol.

A stunning evening at the JFK Center. In all the years living on the east coast, I've never been the the Center. You show us a dreamy evening all bedecked with gowns and jewels and a lovely description of Swan Lake, which I have seen many times in NYC.
Take good care, sending good wishes,
Betty

We have lived close to the Nations Capitol in
Washington, D.C. and have taken our young children
and their friends to see the Ballet of Sleeping Beauty at
the Kennedy Center. They were mesmerized by the graceful
movements of the dancers. During the Intermission, they
were thoughtful as though they had been in the presence of
Angels. tenderly, the Author, Pat
