Weathering the Storms and keeping Warm

Weathering the Storms and keeping Warm

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

Someday I want to be a Cardinal with fledglings...

Taking on the Spirit of LADY LIBERTY

MAKING IT WORTHWHILE TO ASPIRE and grow

as Fledglings in a New World where

Liberty Rings for Everyone...

Give me your Poor and wandering Souls

We will teach them to toil and grow

fruits and vegetable and live

off the Land  to show appreciation

for Opportunity...

Sunflowers and Sunshine

Homes made from Trees

that give Shelter by the Sea...

Where Birds and Bees can be free

in the Land of the Free...

I think the title says it all “Weather the storms and keep warm” It’s funny we destroy a visible nature but worship an invisible God. We should worship a visible nature. Nature is strange too looks so inviting and harmonious but underneath its eat or be eaten. Nice one Pat

I enjoyed this one Patricia. It reminded me of this song.
"Give us your daily bread
We have no shoes to wear
No place to call our own
Only this cross to bear
We are the multitudes
Lend us a helping hand
Is there no love anymore
Living in the promise land?
Living in the promise land
Our dreams are made of steel
The prayer of every man
Is to know how freedom feels" David Lynn Jones

I sense a bit of the good book in this. "Behold, the fowls of the air". In hard times, that thought has often come to mind. Very nice writing, my friend.

You and I come from the same kind of stock--very poor, hardworking folk.

Ah! I see what youve done here Pat, covering nature so eloquently yet it builds into another poem entirely that can be a featured write on fourth of july too!
Ill need to remember that one, seeing as im not writing very much of anything these days, although maybe santa and baby jeebus, along with the easter bunny could merge into a superpower of animation..... But best not invite Mohammad, as i hear he is a bit of a diva sith his "no pictures, or death!" rule.
Now, if you'll excuse me, im away to write the next simpsons! 😊

good point and a tribute to the great statue;. what fears me the most is losing our freedom and liberty... maybe the fledgling birds can say a prayer for us and hope it gets into the ears of the conspirators....lovely words Pat ,as always....keep praying....
