Boughs of Holly

Boughs of Holly

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Snowy Firs covered in Sunshine provide a place to dream...

"
Resting on branches of Holly Berries

Tufted Titmouse on winterberry Holly...

Elegant soft grey feathers with a soft Rose breast

reflect the Season of Merriment as Cardinals dance

Chopins Minuet and search for the Love that

Angels left when Heaven wept for the frozen Souls

left in the Cold of a Wintry night.

This poem is a beautiful and evocative depiction of the natural world in winter. The lines "Resting on branches of Holly Berries / Tufted Titmouse on winterberry Holly..." create a vivid image of a bird perched on a branch, surrounded by the beauty of the winter landscape.

The poem also touches on themes of love and loss, using the imagery of angels weeping for frozen souls to create a sense of sadness and longing. The line "search for the Love that / Angels left when Heaven wept for the frozen Souls / left in the Cold of a Wintry night" is particularly poignant, capturing the sense of loneliness and isolation that can accompany the winter season.

Overall, this is a beautiful and moving poem that captures the magic and mystery of the natural world in winter. The author's use of imagery and language is masterful, creating a sense of wonder and awe that is sure to resonate with readers.

In the season of merriment are hiden the tears of those frozen souls. The birds understand that pain and know where to look for the love that the Angels left. We find both the elements of sadness as well as joy in your beautiful poetry of nature. You weave magic with compassion.

Elegant poem my dear Pat, love the "elegant soft gray feathers"... it truly is the season of merriment...'as the cardinals dance Chopin's minuet"... with a bittersweet ending....
Lovely!
Best, B
