A New Morning

A New Morning

A Poem by Pauline

A new morning

The world recreated

Washed clean by the dawn rain

White puffball clouds scurry

Marched onward by the breeze

In regimental mood

Dappled sunlight

Filters through a

Canopy of whispering leaves

Heady scents of sage, rosemary

Pervade the nostrils

As the eye begins to scan

The valley’s sculptured quilt

Of green and gold

Building and reaching ripeness

Summer time

Peaceful - soothing

And every stream’s

Lilting tune

Is a prayer answered.

A new morning , a new ray of sunshine , new hope for the future . The day cleansed by the light nd the rain .I like the way u described clouds as puffballs , reminds of the time I used to used to describe clouds as cotton candy ! Wonderful imagery my friend , hope you are doing well !

Beautifully penned dear Pauline. You brought me colour and sunshine. Out of my window this morning, blanket mist. We are in Brixham.

A very beautiful poem Pauline. I especially love this line: The valley’s sculptured quilt.
That alone paints this poem with such a remarkable image of nature. Thank you for sharing your poem.
