Elizabeth

A Poem by Pauline
"

The title says it all

"

The Flame Folk

Eyes the shape of stars

(Souls at the fence)

Squinting through

The moth eaten

Velvet cloak of night

Crickets amass

Clapping their wings

Flashing offerings

Hoping their chants

Will be heard behind

The fence that divides

The barrier we call sky

That hides the golden ones

The waiting ones

Waiting whilst She

Travels the long galactic road

That weaves her through

An elegant waltz of stars

On a grand cosmic stage

Draped in a gown of red and gold

The harp awaiting her command

Her lions reared, at the ready

Their guard always up

Whilst the indifferent

The not knowing

That a glowing soul,

Tall, erect

Awaits their reunion

Gee
To reign faultlessly for 70 years is staggering. Pity the family cannot behave !
A wonderful tribute to a truly unique lady
