Etching Our Love on the Threads of Time

Etching Our Love on the Threads of Time

A Poem by Sharon Miller Bolander
"

Written as an English sonnet for my husband

"

Love lives within the days we've shared by choice,

Sweet secrets left unsaid in passion's sighs,

And sparks that glimmer still within your eyes

In whispers from the breath of time's own voice.

No words speak better than your smiling face.

I need but drink this silent moment spent

Confirming love shall keep my heart content

To linger long within your warm embrace.

Between first kiss, release, and final blush,

Soft whispers in the air of love's romance

Pass breathlessly to spin in passion's dance

And quiver from heat of love's own rush.

To etch love's silent words on time's own thread,

A love that's true completes what's left unsaid.

This is beautiful. When I was in HS I tried writing sonnets...I am no good at them.. but you are. And this one is quite pretty. I love the title and the last couplet :)

To etch love's silent words on time's own thread,
A love that's true completes what's left unsaid. -- lovely

And here lies the difference between a sweet young thing burbling about her infatuation, and a mature writer of poetry. You love poem is a joy to read.
