On the Way to May

On the Way to May

A Poem by Sharon Miller Bolander

It's Spring when happy children play

And pick their moms a bright bouquet!

Out come the bikes when Spring arrives

With birds and bees from trees and hives

As green does paint the countryside

And lilacs scent the air.

Such glee abounds amidst this change

As day-by-day life's rearranged.

Renewal's prime; it's welcomed wide

To chase away despair.

A rainbow rises from the mist;

Rebirth shall leave the meadow kissed

With blossoms swaying in the breeze

As if to wave, 'Hello.'

An April shower sets the tone;

Red tulips prove they're not alone

Applauding end to winter's freeze

For leaves begin to grow.

When bluest skies transform the gray,

A windy day brings lovely May!
